How can Toc H help?
While sometimes medication can help the ADHD child in everyday life and enable them to control some behaviour problems, the condition has often has a profound affect on the whole family.
Toc H offers support to parents and siblings of ADHD children, who often feel isolated and unable to socialise and join in with activities in their communities because of the ADHD child's behaviour.
Toc H not only provides practical advice and help, including parenting skills for dealing with challenging behaviour but has a network of family support groups.
These groups meet regularly and occasionally guests or specialists talk about the services that they offer. Children with difficulties can play with like-minded children and the siblings are able to form friendships and learn new ways of coping or accepting the family's needs while also having fun.
Toc H's ADHD support group in Tunbridge Wells also organises regular outings and holidays and actively encourages fathers to get involved and found that they particularly benefit from sharing their concerns with each other too.
